Framingham Risk Calculator
Using Canadian Lipid Guidelines

Framingham Derivation Tables

Points are assigned for risk factors, and a percentage is assigned once all points are accumulated.  The percentage represents the 10-year risk for cardiovascular disease.  Tables are distinct for men and women.  Note that points are assigned for either treated or untreated hypertension, but not for both.  You can check the accuracy of the calculator by manually assigning risk points and adding them up.  You must then apply the risk points a percentage on a separate table.  Positive family history multiplies this percentage by 1.7 for women and 2.0 for men.  If hsCRP evaluation is appropriate and the result is >2, the recommendations are those for a high-risk patient (>20% 10-year risk).  Note that there are separate tables for men and women.
